Is Coffee Bad For High Cholesterol?


Cholesterol is found in your body’s bloodstream. It is known to be an enemy within your body, however, it does provide some useful factors. It is important for a person to have a higher HDL cholesterol level and lower LDL levels. Having too much LDL within your blood can lead to a stroke or heart attack.

There is a relationship between high cholesterol and consuming unfiltered coffee. Numerous studies have shown that coffee has a raising effect on a person’s cholesterol. The coffee oils are the main culprit to high cholesterol levels. Boiled and unfiltered coffees are to blame for these results.

If you have to drink coffee, here are some tips that might help to reduce the harmful effects:

  • Avoid milk and/or sugars
  • Use an unbleached filter
