How Is Hypertension Diagnosed?
|
High blood pressure increases the risk for developing the hypertension. Blood uses arteries and veins as a medium to reach different organs of the body to supply the oxygen. The blood flows at a particular pressure known as blood pressure. Certain disease like diabetes increases the pressure of the blood.
When the heart is pressurized by the blood flow, a disorder called as hypertension is developed. Hypertension is very dangerous as it increases the risk of kidney failure, blurred vision which may lead to loss of vision, coronary heart disease, and heart attacks. There are no symptoms of hypertension but if you feel severe headache then you must undergo diagnosis. Hypertension can be diagnosed by checking the blood pressure which is the primary step of the diagnosis that includes checking the amount of hard blood flowing in and out of the heart.
It is checked by the device known as sphygmomanometer which is kept at the bicep of the person to detect the blood pressure. This bicep possess one major artery which gives the perfect reading of the blood pressure. Doctor may also perform other tests like electrocardiogram which would check the rhythm of the heart beats and the electrical response of the nerves.
