Does Low Cholesterol Levels Lower The Risk of Heart Attack?
|
Cholesterol is a waxy substance that are formed naturally everywhere in the cells of the body. Our body need only limited amount of cholesterol so as to make cell membranes, bile acids, hormones and vitamin D. Excessive deposition of bad cholesterol (LDL) in the body is harmful for the heart. Cholesterol builds up on the wall of the arteries thereby clotting the blood. Blood clot causes the blockage of arteries thus narrowing it. The arteries supply blood to the heart and its blockage will interrupt the blood supply to the heart thereby causing heart attack. Proper diet should be taken in order to lower the cholesterol. Fruits and vegetables should be taken in the diet to reduce the risk of heart attack. Regular exercise and walking, burns extra calories thereby lowering the cholesterol level. Drink 8-10 glass of water throughout the day to lower the risk of heart attack. Heart attack may lead to paralytic attack and so it is necessary to maintain the lower cholesterol level to avoid the risk of heart attack and other related disease. If you lower the cholesterol level in the body, weight will also be reduced thus resulting in proper functioning of the heart.
