What Are The Symptoms Of Hypertension?


Hypertension is a disorder in which the blood puts strain on the walls of the arteries thereby causing damage to the heart and circulatory system. Hypertension sometimes does not have any symptoms. Hence it is also called as silent killer. Hypertension can be detected by checking the blood pressure.

People suffering from hypertension may face problems such as severe headaches, feeling of nausea and dizziness and vision related problems which can even lead to blindness. Chest pains, uneasiness in breathing, bleeding from nose, palpitations of heart are some of the common symptoms of hypertension. A person suffering from hypertension may even experience tinnitus which means buzzing in the ear. Hypertension is a prolonged disease which can cause damage to several body parts such as kidneys, heart, and circulatory system thereby developing coronary heart disease.

A person suffering from hypertension may even die due to kidney failure or stroke. Frequent urination during night time, feeling of drowsiness, patients suffering from diseases such as diabetes, coronary heart disease, anxiety, edema are the symptoms of hypertension. Redness on the skin and pale skin are also experienced by the people suffering from hypertension. Female suffering from hypertension may develop symptoms of preeclampsia which can cause loss of vision, irregular motion of limbs due to contraction of muscles, feeling of nausea and headaches.
